A hotel chatbot quote is useful only when it covers the job you need done. A website FAQ assistant, a shared guest inbox and a concierge connected to reservation data can have different costs. Compare the complete first-year bill for the same rooms, channels and workflow before choosing a subscription.
Published examples show that difference. HiJiffy separates FAQ automation from its generative AI and concierge plans. DialogShift lists a platform charge alongside its chat module. These are buying models to examine, not a market-wide price range. Start with the hotel AI buying guide if you have not yet chosen the workflow.
Key Takeaways
- Compare the plan that performs your required task, not the lowest advertised tier.
- Ask for a total that includes platform fees, room minimums, setup, integrations and usage.
- Keep annual billing, monthly billing and one-time fees separate in the comparison.
- Test accuracy and staff handover before signing a longer commitment.
What published hotel chatbot prices tell you
The table below records vendor pricing pages checked on October 21, 2026. These examples were selected to show two distinct public charging structures: tiered plans and a platform-plus-module price. It is a researched comparison, not a negotiated quote or a hands-on product test. Amounts remain in the vendor's currency. Taxes, property-specific terms and included integrations need confirmation.
| Vendor and scope | Published pricing structure | What to resolve in a quote |
|---|---|---|
| HiJiffy Basic: FAQ automation | From €99/month on the yearly option; €105 on the monthly option. Listed setup: €99 per five properties. | Room-based starting price and limited FAQ scope; it is not the Pro generative AI tier. |
| HiJiffy Pro: generative AI chatbot | From €159/month yearly or €170 monthly. Listed setup: €399 per five properties. | Required booking engine or customer relationship management (CRM) connection, room count and messaging channels. |
| HiJiffy Premium: digital concierge | From €319/month yearly or €350 monthly. Listed setup: €599 per five properties. | Property management system (PMS) compatibility and the exact guest-journey functions included. |
| DialogShift: platform plus Chat AI | Platform: €200/month. Chat AI: €1 per room per hotel monthly, with a €100 minimum. | Confirm how the charges combine for your property and which add-ons or usage charges apply. |
Sources: HiJiffy plans and pricing and DialogShift pricing, retrieved October 21, 2026. HiJiffy labels its figures as starting prices based on room count. DialogShift's page lists phone, email and journey messaging separately; do not assume those modules come with Chat AI.
For a hypothetical 80-room property, the displayed DialogShift structure suggests €200 plus the €100 chat minimum, or €300/month before other charges. This is our arithmetic on the published components, not a vendor-confirmed offer. A quote should confirm that interpretation and the contract terms.
The useful comparison is between complete configurations. A low-cost FAQ plan may be enough for questions about breakfast and parking. If your brief needs reservation context or automated pre-arrival messages, ask suppliers to price that specific workflow. Compare guest messaging tools and AI concierges with that distinction in mind.
Put every quote on the same basis
Send each supplier the same property brief. Include your number of hotels and rooms, required languages, website, booking engine, PMS and channels. Describe whether the assistant should answer questions, draft replies for staff or take a permitted action.
“Connects to our PMS” is too broad to price reliably. Ask which information the connection reads, what it can update and who maintains it. A booking-engine link and access to reservation details solve different problems.
Use this worksheet in a spreadsheet or procurement email. Mark a missing answer as “not confirmed” rather than treating it as free.
| Quote line | Ask the vendor to specify | Your comparison entry |
|---|---|---|
| Base subscription | Plan, currency, billing frequency and minimum term | Monthly equivalent and actual payment schedule |
| Property or room charge | Room definition, minimum bill and portfolio rules | Cost at your current property size |
| Channels | Website, email, WhatsApp, SMS and voice availability | Required channels included or extra |
| Usage | Included messages/minutes, billable units and overages | Normal-month and busy-month estimate |
| Setup | Data preparation, configuration, training and launch support | One-time fee and internal staff time |
| Integration | Named systems, supported actions, connector fees and owner | One-time and recurring costs |
| Support | Hours, escalation path and paid service levels | Included service and extra charges |
| Exit and renewal | Notice, renewal terms and data export | Deadline, fees and export format |
Keep the vendor's written answer alongside each line. A product feature page can identify an option; your contract determines what you are buying. Where a requirement is essential, such as staff takeover during reception hours, include a demonstration in the evaluation rather than accepting a checkbox.
Calculate the first-year bill
For a twelve-month comparison, use:
First-year cash cost = setup and migration + twelve months of recurring charges + expected usage and required add-ons.
Count each charge once. If usage or a connector is already included in the subscription, do not add it again. Keep staff effort on a separate line so it stays visible. If setup includes ten hours of configuration by your team, that is work you need to schedule even when it does not appear on the supplier's invoice.
Consider this fictional quote, unrelated to any vendor in the table: a €250 monthly platform, a €600 setup fee and estimated messaging charges of €40 per month. The first-year cash total is €4,080: €3,000 subscription + €600 setup + €480 usage. Its first-year monthly equivalent is €340. If the subscription is billed annually, the payment schedule will differ from that monthly equivalent.
Repeat the calculation for a busy month. Ask what happens if message volume doubles, a second property joins or you add a phone channel. Do not silently convert currencies or ignore taxes to make one offer appear cheaper. If the vendor will not provide usage assumptions, keep the estimate unresolved and request a spending limit or alert.
Test the cost of maintaining the answers
A fast first reply does not tell you how much work the system removes. During a pilot, record staff time spent preparing information, correcting answers and handling escalations. Compare that effort with the same workflow before the pilot.
Give each shortlisted supplier a small set of approved property facts and the same scenarios:
- A routine breakfast-hours question with a clear source answer.
- A request for a facility the property does not offer.
- A reservation change that must reach reception.
- An out-of-hours request for a person.
- A policy update that should replace the previous answer.
Record the answer, the source used, whether staff received the handover and any correction needed. Choose acceptance criteria before seeing the results. The hotel AI pilot checklist provides a fuller scorecard.
Treat time savings as a measurement task. A supplier's case study is not a forecast for your hotel, and an automated conversation is not automatically a resolved request. A useful pilot identifies which questions the system handles safely and how much upkeep those answers require.
Questions to settle before signing
Is a website chatbot the same as an AI concierge?
The names overlap across vendors. Define the work instead: answering public FAQs, managing conversations, using reservation context or supporting a guest journey. Compare included actions and integrations, then choose the category that matches your brief.
Does a published starting price cover my hotel?
Not necessarily. Room count, property minimums, channels and billing terms can change the total. Ask for a dated quote naming your property configuration. Keep the public starting price as a reference, not the final budget.
Should we choose annual billing to reduce the monthly rate?
Make that decision after checking the workflow and commitment. Calculate the total amount due, the cancellation or renewal terms and the cost of a plan that does not fit. A successful limited pilot gives you better evidence for that decision than the discount alone.
