Inventory and transactions
Flight search, room availability, prices and reservations need supplier or distribution integrations. Check coverage, freshness, commercial access and the full booking lifecycle.
Intelligence around your data
Itinerary outlines, review summaries, translation and content enrichment can sit alongside your inventory. They do not provide bookable stock or confirm availability.
Evaluate the operational details
Ask about authentication, rate limits, data retention, error handling and usage billing. A documentation example is not evidence of production availability.
Turn the feature into an integration brief
Describe one complete customer action, including the outcome your system must guarantee. “Suggest a three-day trip” can work with a reviewed content draft. “Sell a flight for these dates” requires current offers, a transaction flow and support after purchase. The second requirement cannot be met by improving a language-model prompt.
Ask for evidence at each access stage
Separate public documentation, sandbox access and production approval. Record what the sandbox omits, whether test data represents your markets, and who can confirm commercial eligibility. Do not make your launch depend on a gated provider until its access requirements are resolved.
| Area | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Data | Who supplies it, how fresh is it, and what may you display or retain? |
| Actions | Does this endpoint suggest, price, book or amend? Which action needs approval? |
| Failure | How do you distinguish rejection from an unknown transaction outcome? |
| Operations | Who owns support, usage limits, monitoring and changes to the contract? |
Evaluate the integration you actually need
Our flight API guide separates comparison search from embedded booking. The hotel API guide distinguishes inventory from property connectivity. For a content feature, compare content-generation tools and ask each vendor whether it offers the API access and output format your application needs.
